Exhibition News

I am very excited to announce that I will be exhibiting my work in Santiago’s Art Café in Botesdale, Suffolk. It’s actually my first exhibition in many, many years, so I’m really looking forward to it. There’s something about seeing photos printed that is so refreshing in our increasingly digital world, and that was one of the catalysts for me, I wanted to make something real. Prints will include some of my recent work, as well as old favourites, all professionally framed locally.

The coffee is fantastic, and the setting is lovely, so if you get a chance please do pop in and take a look. The exhibition will run from May 6th until the end of July, at Santiago’s Art Café, Chilvers, Market Place, Botesdale, Suffolk IP22 1BT.

Out and about with my new camera yesterday. Decided to upgrade to the D300s, and I’m really impressed with it. I have to admit I was sorry to see my trusty D200 go, it’s been a real reliable workhorse for me. The D300s is great though, better noise handling and weather proofing, larger LCD screen…

Mines a flat white, maybe a gingerbread biscuit too. There’s a Herring gull at my feet, trying to look cute, but mostly just looking intimidating, circling the table and carefully watching with piercing pale eyes as I eat. A flock of Canada geese flying around in the mist calling made it feel like Autumn was here, but a lone Chiff Chaff was singing away, reminding me of Summer.     The feeders kept me entertained whilst waiting for my intended subject to appear (which…

Ok, I admit it. Lizards. My favourite species to photograph. Don’t get me wrong, I love the hares and the barn owls too, but lizards, so full of character, so fascinating in their little macro world. It absorbs me, my attention, I could spend hours watching, yet to me feels like barely a few minutes….

  • Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all! Despite the grey weather today, I just had to get out with the camera – the reason? Well a lovely shiny new lens! Now the folks who know me will know I’m not that much of a ‘gear-head’ and I’m a firm believer in that it’s not what you’ve…

  • Bountiful berries

This year the local hedgerows are laden with berries, and we’ve had a sudden influx of Redwing. These pretty little birds, slightly smaller than a Song Thrush, with a handsome russet red flash under their wings migrate in from Scandinavia and Russia to spend the winter here. Last weekend they were busy feeding in the…
